Combined Website and Case Tracking System for Law Offices
For Sümbül Law Office in Antalya, specializing in execution-bankruptcy law, concordat, commercial disputes, and banking, we developed a two-part system: a search-engine discoverable, bilingual law office website and a management panel that consolidates client, case, deadline, hearing, and financial tracking on a single screen.
The goal was clear: enable every lawyer in the office to track their cases, deadlines, and collections without relying on Excel or notebooks; while simultaneously allowing the website to reach potential clients through relevant legal searches.
Law Office Website: Trustworthy and Searchable
The promotional site publishes content in both Turkish and English. Each language has its own URL and reciprocal language links (hreflang); practice areas, attorney profiles, knowledge center, news, FAQs, and contact information are housed on separate, indexable pages.
SEO Infrastructure Built from Scratch
- Each page is identified with its own canonical URL; the sitemap includes actual update dates for pages.
- Breadcrumbs and structured data: Q&A, person, and service information can appear richer in search results.
- The office's location, working hours, and official profiles are communicated to search engines.
- When pages are shared on social media or messaging platforms, a visual card appears.
- Custom "page not found" and error pages include a sitemap link and security headers for visitors; admin panel and API URLs are blocked from search engines.
Knowledge Center and News
The knowledge center consolidates process guides, articles, legal updates, and case law reviews under one roof; the news section provides a separate feed for current posts. Articles are published via a rich text editor in the panel—no technical knowledge required.
Case, Client, Deadline, and Hearing Tracking
The management panel links client and case records. All of a client's cases can be accessed from a single page; each case is organized into seven tabs that logically segment daily work:
- General information
- Deadlines and tasks
- Hearings
- Financial
- Parties
- Documents
- Power of attorney and notes
Fields and selectable statuses in the form change based on case type (lawsuit, execution proceeding, consultancy, mediation, concordat, arbitration); irrelevant fields don't clutter the screen. The case's current stage is displayed on a progress bar visible in every tab; whenever the stage changes, it's automatically logged in the case notes with its date.
Pending deadlines, open tasks, and upcoming hearings across the office are color-coded on a monthly calendar; overdue records turn red. Clicking a day opens that day's list and a summary of upcoming days.
Financial Tracking: Attorney Fees, Expenses, and Collections
Each case can have fixed, percentage-based, or hybrid attorney fee agreements. Balances are calculated automatically as expenses and collections are recorded; fees and expenses are tracked separately for clarity.
- Collections can be entered as "pending" or "collected" with due dates; planned and unplanned receivables are displayed separately.
- Collections exceeding the remaining balance cannot be entered; fee agreements cannot be reduced below already collected amounts.
- Closed cases with remaining balances appear at the top of the list with a warning.
- The office's overall financial status is visible on the dashboard, while case-specific status appears in the case's Financial tab.
Document Generation, Statistics, and Team Management
- Template-based document generation: your Word template is populated with case information; a preview appears first, and upon approval, the document is downloaded and added to the case files.
- Statistics and risk summary: overdue deadlines and tasks, deadlines expiring within 30 days, open cases not updated in 60 days; case status and legal field distribution plus cases opened in the last six months.
- Team management: the office's attorneys and staff can be added to the panel; when someone leaves, their historical records and case responsibilities are preserved by deactivating their account.
- Quick search: instant access to clients, cases, and documents via keyboard shortcuts.
Technologies Used
The system was developed with Next.js (App Router) and React using TypeScript. For content and data layer: Directus; UI: Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui; rich text editor: Tiptap; multilingual routing: next-intl.
